More than 3.5 million pupils are at home these days, but not all of them attend online courses. According to estimates from the Ministry of Education, about 250,000 children do not have the IT equipment or data services needed to connect to online education platforms, along with their teachers and colleagues. Most of them come from families in need who cannot afford a computer. Having in mind that the school moves in online at least by September, PRAS wants to help those who cannot afford a laptop.
A program through which we donate from our office all unused laptops that a child in need could use to do his homework. Moreover, we collect old laptops, repair them for free and send them as well.
If you have an old laptop at your office or at home and you no longer need it or is broken, send it to us (by courier or drop by), so that we can fix it and donate it to a family in need. If it works, you just need to clear all your data.
Don’t worry about its configuration or operating system, we will be able to make it work, so that a child can use it for online lessons.
If you know a family with a child who would find these laptops useful, leave us a message either here or on biblioteca@pras.ro. We are open to any collaboration with other companies or NGOs, so that the The Laptop Library helps as many students as possible. Therefore, any recommendation matters.
